About ASEAN-USC 2009

The ASEAN University Student Conference 2009 is a creative space for 150 talented students from ASEAN member countries to share their experiences, thought, awareness and understanding on how to preserve and optimize our heritage. This event will be organized by the State Ministry of Youth and Sport of Republic of Indonesia, in collaboration with Center for Youth Development & Empowerment Indonesia, Department of Foreign Affairs, State Secretariat of RI, ASEAN Secretariat, West Java Government (Youth and Sport Division of West Java Government), Mayor of Bandung City.
Theme :“Enriching and Preserving our Cultural Heritage”
The conference would be held on May 21th – 24st 2009, in Bandung. The agendas are Panel Discussion, Working Group Discussion, (Student Festival), Cultural Performance, Cultural Visit and Workshop.

Official Expenses

For local hospitality excluding international telephone call, telephone call to mobile phone, messages transmitted via telex or facsimile, tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and other hotel services, other than those stipulated above, as well as personal expenses.

Registration and Accreditation

  • Each participant must register and obtain their identification passes at the Registration Counter (venue of the conference will be advised).

  • For identification and security purposes, all participants are requested to wear their identification passes at all times during the conference and social functions including sightseeing tour on 28 February 2009 (Saturday).

  • All participants are advised to submit the duly completed registration forms to the Secretariat by fax +62 (21) 5738150/52 and preferably by email to aseanstudentconference@gmail.com not later than 15 March 2009.

Ground Transportation/Sightseeing Tour

Transportation will only be provided from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to the Hotel on arrival and departure for the Conference and during sightseeing tour.

Arrival/Departure

· A special lane and counter will be open at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for assistance on immigration and custom clearance upon arrival.

· Foreign participants for the conference can proceed to the Conference Counter at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for their transportation to the hotel.

· Each participant is responsible for their own baggage collection upon arrival at the airport to the hotel.

Language

English will be the working language of the Conference. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

Participants

150 participants aged 18-27 years old from ASEAN member countries. Each ASEAN member country is responsible for selecting participants.

Qualification : interested in Heritage challenge, have a good English to actively participate in discussion, Interested in ASEAN and cultural heritage, and Have an ability to perform his/her own country ‘s cultural tradition/music/art/dance.

The name of the participants should have been received by the committee before April 17th, 2009. (deadline)
